“By restoring our ancestral homelands, we honor the sacrifices of our ancestors and continue our work to uplift our elders, nurture our youth, and secure a sustainable future for generations to come.”
— MELISSA FERRETTI, CHAIRWOMAN, HERRING POND WAMPANOAG TRIBE
Our mission is to acquire, preserve, and protect natural, cultural, and historical resources, watersheds, habitats, ecosystems and archeological sites in and around the Homeland of the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe.

Conservation
We shall encourage sound conservation practices, guided by Indigenous wisdom, including those related to climate change, mitigation, and adaptation, and to preserve Native lifeways and access to waters.
Community Engagement
We seek to engage in and educate others about conservation, stewardship and maintenance of open lands, wetlands, woodlands and ecosystems.
Education Programs
We engage in related conservation, educational, scientific and charitable activities that, among other things, advance the philosophy, policies and customs of the Tribe and lessen the burden of government.
Collaboration
Sacred Earth Land Conservancy is a Native-run organization operating in the public interest, closely allied with the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe.
